We are excited to announce that enrollment for our summer programs is now open. For students who have never attended STARBASE previously, join us in our core summer academy. For those students that previously participated in the core summer academy or joined us with their school, we invite you to our advanced academy. Read the descriptions and criteria below carefully to ensure you select the correct program. Please be aware that applying for a program does not guarantee selection. We receive many applications, and our academies have limited seating.

CORE
SUMMER ACADEMY
Theme: Does technology, science, and engineering excite your child? If so, have them join like-minded peers at STARBASE. Through an immersive, hands-on setting, students will program a robot to navigate a Mars surface, design a life-saving contraption in an "egg-citing" engineering activity, blast off into space in a full-scale space shuttle nose simulator, apply the science of chromatography to solve a mystery, use CAD to create 3D models, and much more!

Eligibility: Students entering 5th or 6th grades for the 2025/26 school year and have not attended STARBASE previously.

Dates & Times (Two Options): June 9 - 12; June 16 - 19 (9 am to 2 pm each day)

Location: Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan
​
Transportation: Students will need transportation to and from the academy each day.
​
Cost: There is no cost. All materials are provided.
​
Lunch: Students need to bring a non-perishable lunch and beverage each day.
ADVANCED ACADEMY
Theme: Get ready to get messy with some crazy chemistry at STARBASE! Students will explore the periodic table of elements and dive into captivating chemical reactions by making bouncy balls, mixing eruptions, stirring slime, and much more! The week will include experiments to collect clues for an extreme escape, solving a crime with funky forensics, and creatively cooking to showcase culinary chemistry. These budding chemists will undoubtedly have a bubbly, colorful, fun time with science!

Eligibility: Students entering 6th or 7th grades for the 2025/26 school year and have attended a previous core summer academy or STARBASE with their school.

Dates & Times (Two Options): July 21 - 25; July 28 - August 1 (9 am to 2 pm each day)
